JEF in Vallekilde, Denmark - Energy and Environment

The Young European Federalists have invited about 50 youngsters from around the continent to debate about one of the most heated issues of today: Energy, climate change and sustainable development.


With this seminar we are involved in the debate about healthy environment as a basic human right. A series of innovative workshops, panel discussions with experts and interactive activities provide the means for approaching the conflict between economical development, energy consumption and environmental sustainability for youth and civil society.

The seminar’s theme is one of special interest for the future of European integration as well, as more and more European citizens are urging their politicians to take action in making the European Union a global leader in environmental protection.

We've spent two days now in this place. Nice buildings, nice wheather, nice organziers. Here some of us are, working:

These are the things we really don't like:
- Starvation
- Mosquitoes (eg. Malaria)
- prioritizing
- Foratom (but we liked the lobbyist. We felt sorry for him because he was wrong)
- the morning after international evenings
- poverty
- Nuclear war and nuclear facilities. In fact we don't like anything that has to do with enriched uranium.
- poor internet facilities
- unclean toilets
- dirty water
- hard work

We are not yet sure if we like:
- The Copenhagen Consensus Center
- Our blog

We propose to promote all the things on the we-like-list and stop most of the things on the we-don't-like-list. Take a look at this movie and
